Peebles on Some of the Top 10 NFL Teams through Week 10

It’s official, 10 weeks of regular season NFL betting have passed, and Peebles has just about thrown in the towel in terms of trying to pick winners. He’s learned the hard way not to put too much stock in the Lions (even though they have won one game). He’s also learned, however, that his hunch about the break out Cincinnati Bengals team was the right call. No one saw this coming in September, but the ticket is in and the Bengals are #4 in the entire NFL, right behind Brett Favre and the miracle Minnesota Vikings.

According to NFL.com, here’s the latest chart with the current win/loss records through Week 10 NFL betting, including ties and last 5 game results:

NFL – 2009 Regular Season
NFL Team Conf Div W L T Pct Streak Last 5
Indianapolis Colts AFC ACS 9 0 0 1.000 9W 5-0
New Orleans Saints NFC NCS 9 0 0 1.000 9W 5-0
Minnesota Vikings NFC NCN 8 1 0 .889 2W 4-1
Cincinnati Bengals AFC ACN 7 2 0 .778 3W 4-1
Arizona Cardinals NFC NCW 6 3 0 .667 2W 4-1
Dallas Cowboys NFC NCE 6 3 0 .667 1L 4-1
Denver Broncos AFC ACW 6 3 0 .667 3L 2-3
New England Patriots AFC ACE 6 3 0 .667 1L 3-2
Pittsburgh Steelers AFC ACN 6 3 0 .667 1L 4-1

Here’s some thoughts from Mr. Peebles on the top 10 teams:

  1. Colts – Peyton Manning and the Colts got LUCKY over the weekend…Really Lucky. They narrowly pulled off a win against a strong Patriots team that had them beat well into the 4th quarter. That’s why Mr. Manning gets the big bucks: he supposed to turn things around and pull off the improbable. As a result, the Colts are tied for #1, looking like the possible AFC champions. They’ve got a 9 game cushion to relax on – the rest of the season in in cruise control.
  2. Saints – If you thought Peyton Manning was good, you have to see Drew Brees. Unlike the Colts, who snuck by with a 1 point victory last weekend, the Saints have domineered opponents, winning all their games by a decisive margin. New Orleans is jumping for joy. Not only are the Saints poised to be the NFC champs, but they’re also a lock for the Super Bowl (so far…)
  3. Vikings – Favre was good in the 1990s. Then he took a couple breaks. Now, in 2009, coming out of the rest home for quarterbacks, he’s guided the Vikings to an amazing 8-1 record, on the heels of the powerhouse Saints team. All things considered, 8-1 isn’t so bad for a guy that’s retired a few times. The record is well deserved: the Vikings have put on a show this season, earning their 8-1 with guts and intelligent play.
  4. Bengals – Say What? Peebles mentioned this at the top of the post, but he’ll mention it again: “I told you so!” The Cats from Cinci have been the surprise heroes of Ohio this season, out pacing all expectations to tally a very respectable 7-2 record. Could we see a Bengals-Colts showdown later this year? It’s certainly within the realm of possibility. Look for the Bengals to continue to bust out… busting out NFL betting sportsbooks that is, where players have made off like bandits. Joe Bookie is shaking a cup on the corner, thanks to this superb team.

Good Luck NFL Betting Week 11 from Mr. Peebles!
